When an idea begins to spread, it is seemingly inevitable that it is interpreted in different ways. This has  recently happened to Resilience Engineering and to Safety-II. An effective way of rectifying such misintepretations is to address them directly. Steven Shorrock has done this very elegantly and has kindly allowed me to reproduce it here.
